        HISTORY
        
City & Outport Adventures, Newfoundland's first package tour
operator, has been successful in packaging tours of the entire
island for the past six years. Daily tours of St. John's and the
Southern Shore, which are partially done by tour boat, offer
views of ice bergs, whales, and an abundance of sea birds that
flourish throughout the coastal region during the season.
        

Culture, heritage, nature and wildlife can be experienced by
every visitor through our various tours that are offered daily
throughout the Avalon region. Tour "the City of Legends," the
Southern Shore, the Marine Drive, Conception Bay / Bell Island,
the Baccalieu Trail, the Cape Shore, and Trinity / Bonavista. For
those that have more time, you can experience our 5 day
Newfoundland excursion on our two or three day St. Pierre and
Miquelon tour. You may wish to extend your vacation further 
to include an Atlantic Maritime tour, such as the Prince Edward
Island - Cape Breton Island tour, or an Annapolis Valley - New
Brunswick - Prince Edward Island tour.

structures such as Signal Hill National Historic
Park, Cabot Tower, Basilica, Anglican Cathedral,
the Courthouse, Lieutenant Governor's House,
Commissariat House, Quidi Vidi Village, the War
Memorial, Newfoundland Museum, Harbourside
Park, and many other sites that are preserved
and restored.

Following the City Tour by motorcoach your
adventure will continue as you sail on a Marine
Vessel to Cape Spear, the most easterly point of
land in North America where Icebergs, Seabirds
and Whale watching may be experienced.

Tour the famous outports that are
nestled between rolling hillsides
just minutes from the capital city,
St. John's. Scattered along our
coastline these outports are now
accessible through our motor
vehicles designed for your group or

Commonly known as the "Irish Cultural Heart of
Newfoundland", these outports portray a 500
year history fought over by the French and British
and settled by the English, Irish and Welsh.
Customs and traditions are evident through
architecture and dialect, varying from one outport
to the next. Cape Spear National Historic Park
and the most easterly point in North America,
Petty Harbour, Bay Bulls, Witless Bay, Mobile
and Tors Cove, are many of the outports that
may be experienced throughout your tour.

Following the Outport Tour, voyage on a Marine
Vessel to the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve
where the largest selection of seabirds in North
America may be viewed, including the Puffin, our
provincial bird. Minke, Humpback, Right and Fin
